Strategic Leadership

Gio Group trains and coaches clients on the challenges of a changing workforce and other demands on leadership, such as identifying and adapting to new technology, meeting the demands of competition, affecting smooth cultural integration caused by mergers and acquisitions and balancing professional responsibilities with leadership responsibilities.

This segment of our services recognizes that strategic leadership must respond effectively to a 21st century business landscape that encompasses different ways of doing business, accommodates the needs of a new generation of workers and demands fresh approaches to leadership.

Gio Group offers four half-day foundational leadership training workshops and personal coaching focusing on four core leadership skills.

Setting Performance Expectations

Participants receive guidance on setting clear goals and expectations for the tasks and responsibilities of their team and engagement members. Training centers on coaching to conduct effective conversations with individuals. These structured conversations produce understanding through the creation of two-way communications that address the needs of the organization as well as of the individual.

Empowering Delegation

Delegating tasks effectively is an essential leadership skill. It balances oversight with allowing individuals to exercise responsibilities without burdensome command and control. Participants learn how to delegate tasks while empowering others to utilize their individual talents and ideas. Participants become familiar with delegation styles, finding the style that is most effective for situations and learning how to tailor styles to maintain staff productivity and engagement.

Coaching and Feedback

A key leadership trait is effectively helping people meet expectations, operate from their personal best and overcome lapses in performance. Participants develop their skills on providing feedback to team members on their level of performance and coaching them to close performance gaps. Participants also learn how to keep solid performers motivated and challenged by ensuring they possess a full portfolio of skills and opportunities.

Balancing Leading and Professional Responsibilities

Time is limited and effective leaders must achieve a balance between their varied responsibilities. These responsibilities include leading others while providing professional services to clients, but extend to family and community duties. Participants learn how to set realistic priorities so they fulfill their multiple roles and commitments to their organization team members, family, community and themselves.

These workshops provide approaches and tools to improve core leadership skills. The true test of ongoing success begins after the workshop ends. That is the starting point for participants to apply what they have learned and integrate this knowledge into day-to-day behavior. For that reason, Gio Group provides continuing support through in-person coaching or telephone follow-up to ensure participants effectively utilize their honed leadership skills. 360 feedback tools are also available so leaders can learn exactly how they are perceived and if others' perceptions match their self perception.
